 The Municipal Court is responsible for administering the operations of the judicial branch of City Government according to the ordinances adopted by the City Council. Cases adjudicated in Municipal Court include misdemeanor complaints covered under City Code and those State Statutes which are incorporated into the City Code, occurring within the jurisdictional limits of the City of Cheyenne. These originate from the Cheyenne Police Department, Parking Control, Animal Control, or City Attorney's Office.
The Municipal Court judges are appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council for a term of two years.
The Municipal Court has a staff of seven, including the Clerk of the Court, two Deputy Clerks and a Bailiff serving two full time Judges.
